This air fryer chicken sandwich is made with frozen breaded chicken and a super simple homemade hot sauce that you're sure to love. I love making these with Tyson chicken or Aldi red bag chicken.
Spray the basket with cooking spray, then add the frozen chicken pieces in a single layer. Cook for 12-15 minutes, until crispy, golden brown and warmed through. They should reach an internal temperature of 165ºF. (If you don't have an air fryer, bake chicken at 425°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.)
Meanwhile, in a shallow dish mix together the cayenne pepper, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, olive oil, and water to form a thin paste.
Use tongs to remove the chicken from the air fryer and dip each piece of chicken into the hot sauce mixture, coating both sides. Add more water if necessary to thin the sauce.
Serve the spicy chicken breasts on the buns and top with pickles.
